Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Isaac Asiamah thinks the new captain of the Black Stars has the zeal to lead the country to glory at the next Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The four champions seek to end their 37-year wait for continental success after winning their last title in 1982.

The Kwesi Appiah team is about to end its drought in the last six tournaments, having reached the semifinals and even going up to the finals in 2010 and 2015.

Ayew led the Black Satellites to victory at the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt after beating Brazil in penalties in the final and Hon. Asiamah thinks he can reproduce this feat at the CAN in Egypt.

"My competent captain, I was with him in Egypt in 2009 and I saw the team work for him while we were winning the U-20 World Cup in Egypt and we're going do it again. "

"We bring the cup once more, so team work is essential for this company and I have badurance from this team that it will do everything in its power to enhance the image of Ghana. "

"I can badure that they will submit their individual ego and die for their mother Ghana because Ghanaians are thirsty for a cup, so we ask Ghanaians to pray for the team, to support them so that our return brings us the cup, "Asiamah said

Nana Addo organized a farewell dinner with the Black Stars. The team is expected to camp in Dubai from June 1st.
