SDP Social Democratic Party presidential campaigner President Jerry Gana on Friday dissociated members and supporters of his party from the ruling party's approval, the Progressive Congress, APC, President Muhammadu Buhari . for the presidential election of February 16th.
He also alleged that it was only a few of the renegades of the SDP, under the guise of the National Executive Committee, CEN, who met in Abuja and who decided to adopt Buhari.
Ike Neliaku, general manager of Gana's G19 presidential campaign team, said this while he was informing reporters in Abuja.
In his words, "on the recent events within our party, the Social Democratic Party SDP. We are therefore obliged to address you again to you and to millions of Nigerians who are shocked by the statement made yesterday by renegade members of our party, the SDP, in the guise of an executive committee NEC, which would have met in Abuja. and resolved to adopt the presidential candidate of the Progressive Congress, the ruling party, APC, as a candidate by consensus in the next presidential election.
"We want to categorically condemn and disbadociate ourselves from this unfortunate, backward, scandalous, unjust, mercantilist and shameful betrayal of trust and anti-party activities by a small faction loyal to Donald Duke's vice-presidential candidate, Alhaji. Shehu Gabam.
"Their statement plunges the party into a flood of political mud that not only puts it in a bad light, but also hurts all the other SDP candidates who are elected on the party platform.
"This repulsive duplicity is unacceptable to our campaign team, our supporters and the millions of reputable SDP members whose voices we represent and on whose mandate this statement is published."
In addition, the G-19 stated that the majority of the authentic and principled members of the NEC were not invited to the meeting at which Buhari's adoption agreement had been concluded.
According to him, "the mercenaries were recruited to bear the identity of true members of CEN and, in a desperate attempt to create a perception of acceptability, so as to enhance the value of their goods and ultimately increase the income from their transaction ".
