With the Geneva Motor Show in our mirrors, it's time to look ahead and get ready for the next big auto show. Scheduled in about a month, the New York Auto Show will be the place where Hyundai will present a brand new crossover. As previously announced by the South Korean brand, the new model will be placed under the Kona to serve as the manufacturer's entry-level CUV.
Today, Hyundai has announced that the model in question will be called "Venue" and will target "urban entrepreneurs". The company does not want to go into the details of its new model of elevated driving, but it says it well. was chosen as a reference to a place where "people want to be seen or, in this case, inside the vehicle".
According to a report published by Motor Trend A little over a month ago, the Hyundai Venue will avoid the funky style of the Kona for the benefit of a more conventional look. SangYup Lee, head of the Hyundai Global Design Center in Namyang, South Korea, said the smaller CUV was going to have a "distinctly different" appearance from Kona, adding that it would have a "bold, bold and bold character" .
We already know that the new segment A crossover will not run on the same platform as Kona and will be available in North America, hence the debut in New York next month. The new site will be Hyundai's latest addition to its growing portfolio, which has just added the large three-row and seven-seat SUV Palisade. The sister brand Kia is also expanding its premium product line with the launch of Telluride, while the XCeed for Europe and the Tusker for the United States have not yet been released.
