The Aprilia Tuono V4 has earned a reputation as an uncompromising high performance upright sports bike. Note that we didn’t say naked, as it has a mosquito net, mid fairing, and chin fairing. The Aprilia Tuono V4 2021 will be a little more civilized than previous editions of the canyon and track-ready brawler. Let’s dive into the latest Tuono V4 (we last reviewed an Aprilia Tuono V4 in 2019).
- There are two versions of the Aprilia Tuono V4 2021: standard and factory. The main differentiator between the two Tuono V4s is that the factory gets the semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension. The standard Tuono V4 has a traditional fully adjustable suspension, without electronics.
- The new improved Tuono V4 electronic sport. The new Marelli 11MP ECU and six-axis IMU enable six drive modes for 2021. There are three track modes, two of which are customizable. Aprilia offers two predefined street modes, as well as one which is user configurable. Adjustments can be made to engine braking, ABS, traction control, and wheel control, among others. We’ve seen these same updates on the 2021 Aprilia RSV4 superbikes.
- Aprilia has updated the swingarm of the Tuono V4 2021. It is lighter and has a brace to increase stiffness to help with stability under acceleration. The new geometry comes straight from the World Superbike.
- The Aprilia Tuono V4 2021 have relaxed ergonomics. The handlebars are higher than before and the fuel tank is shaped to give the rider more space. The fairing offers better protection against the wind, as well as new LED lighting. There are also corner sensitive lights so you can see the corners better after dark.
- Aprilia makes things more comfortable for the passenger. The seat is bigger this year for the passenger, and the rear section is new. In addition, the footrests are lower, providing a little more legroom.
- If the idea of sport-touring on the Aprilia Tuono V4 appeals to you, asymmetric panniers are available for 2021.
- The two Aprilia Tuono V4 2021 have distinct colors. The factory is available in Aprilia Black, while the standard version has two color choices: Tarmac Gray and Glacier White. At the moment we only have one photo of the Factory model.
- Be patient, the new Tuono V4s won’t be available until June in the US. Upon arrival, the 2021 Aprilia Tuono V4 will be priced at $ 15,999, and the factory MSRP is $ 19,499.
