21 Nepali girls "saved" from Kenyan striptease clubs

Police in Kenya rescued 21 young Nepali women during a raid against two strip clubs in a posh suburb of Nairobi, according to investigators. The Child Trafficking and Protection Unit, and the Transnational Organized Crime Unit … attacked two clubs in Mogotio Road, Westlands and rescued 21 Nepalese girls who had been trafficked to Kenya for exploitation, wrote the DCI on his verified Twitter account

. The operation, conducted last night, showed three young women dressed in brightly colored blouses hiding their faces when they were escorted.

Three local suspects have been arrested on suspicion of trafficking and will be charged with related offenses, the DCI added.

Girls, whose age has not been confirmed by detectives, were transferred to a victims shelter after the police operation, they will remain there while the officers verify their identity and determine if they are legally in Kenya.

"We are holding the 21 girls and three others local suspects. We are investigating their links with international trafficking networks and you will be made aware of the progress made, "a police source close to the investigation told AFP.
