The highest-paid companies in the UK now pay new employees 20% less than they did in two years, despite Leading CEOs continue to increase by 11% last year.

This is the verdict of a survey of Glbaddoor which reveals that the 25 largest companies are now offering new employees between 61,000 and 90,000 pounds as the median total compensation, which includes base salary plus bonus.
Two years ago, when the same survey was done for the first time, it appeared that the figures were between 80,000 and 110,000 pounds.
What has not changed, is the dominance of financial and technology companies in the list – although six technology companies were ranked among the top ten in 2019, compared with four in 2017, and four banks, against five in 2017.
Down but not bad considering
Although the results suggest that newcomers' wages have declined over the last two years, the majority of upper-tier pay programs remain above three or even four times the median salary of £ 23,474 in the UK -United.
