HARARE, July 24 (Xinhua / GNA) – The World
The Food Program (WFP) said that more than a third of rural households living in
Zimbabwe is "dangerously" in food insecurity after the
Nino-induced drought that has hit the country and other parts of southern Africa
during the rainy season 2018/19.
WFP said in a tweet that he was working with
government and development partners to help families in need.
"A severe drought has made more than
one third of rural households in Zimbabwe – about 3.5 million people –
dangerously food insecure.
"We work with the government and
partners to provide urgent support to those who need it, "he said.
The United Nations has already said that
more than 6 million Zimbabweans (nearly 40% of the population)
need food aid until the next harvest in April 2020 due to drought and
