3 people arrested in connection with the alleged murder of an Okada runner in Brepro

Police investigations led to the arrest of three people in connection with the murder of an Okada biker in the Ahafo Ano East district of the Ashanti region.

45-year-old Okada runner named Kwaku Manu, a resident of Brepro near Fawoman in Ahafo Ano East District, was found in a bush with multiple injuries to his body in Brepro after leaving his home on Friday August 6.

His body was taken to Mankraso public hospital but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

In a police statement on the investigation updates, the Ashanti Regional Command revealed that the three people Kwabena Stephen 20, Edward Nepondi 20 and Kofi Quansah 19, have been arrested in connection with the theft / murder of Kwaku Manu.

He said the trio, all residents of Potrikrom near Edugyama, were involved in an accident with the deceased’s motorcycle and were admitted to St. Edward’s Hospital in Edugyama.

“A search of one of the suspects revealed the cell phone of the deceased. The three are therefore arrested and are in police custody at the government hospital in Mankranso, ”the statement said.

Police said they went to the scene of the crime where they found an empty BB cartridge.

“Same [the Cartridge] has been kept along with the damaged motorcycle for evidence. Any other update will be communicated, ”the statement said.

The suspects were transferred to the government hospital in Mankraso while the body of the deceased was deposited at the Plus Lab morgue in Mankraso for preservation.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti regional command expressed sympathy to the bereaved family, assuring that “the police will not tolerate any crime in the region and the region in general. That all cases of crime be fully investigated and justice served for all. “
