3 women caught with 197 packages from Wee | criminality

Large quantities of substances presumed to be hemp were seized in New Edubiase and Kyeraboroso by the Fomena District Command of the Ashanti region.

The 197 packages of wee were confiscated from three women whose names were given: Georgina Asare, also known as Madame, 30, Doris Asare, 27, and Akosua Nyankomago, 50.

Nyankomago, who had been arrested for the first time by the police, took them to Madame's home in New Edubiase, where the huge amount of substance was found.

Superintendent Fii Ochil, commander of the Fomena District Police, said that Nyankomago had been arrested with 143 packages of the substance suspected of being Indian hemp in Kyereboroso in Adansi Asokwa district.

According to the chief of police, the three women have since been arrested to badist in the investigations.

He said that the substances were hidden in the suspects' shop.

Superintendent Ochil stated that the cooperation of some people helped police seize the substances and fight the use of narcotics.
