NABCO staff went to the customs division of the GRA at a parade to officially welcome them.

Mr Crentsil recalled that "because of so many difficulties, the revenue collection for last year had decreased by 18.7%, which, according to him, had never happened.
As part of the measures to achieve this goal, the department had developed strategies to improve revenue mobilization, adding that NABCO recruits, working under the supervision of senior customs officials, would be badigned to various sections, such as: warehousing and transit of goods. support the implementation of measures and strategies to generate the necessary revenue.
Deployment
The Commissioner of the Customs Division said some of the recruits would also be deployed as part of trade facilitation, while others would be engaged in tax education campaigns to improve tax compliance. and fight against cases of tax evasion.
He asked them to put into practice the skills and values acquired during paramilitary training, such as discipline, time management, teamwork, perseverance and leadership, to support ongoing reforms within the GRA aimed at revenue targets.
Mr. Crentsil pointed out that the trainees were joining the Customs Division at a time when many reforms had been introduced, particularly in the area of professionalism, to promote voluntary compliance with the conditions allowing people to pay the required fees.
Context
NABCO (Nation Builders Corps) is a government initiative to combat graduate unemployment. To date, approximately 90,000 of the expected 100,000 graduates have participated in the program.
As part of the program, recruits are attached to various service and public sector institutions such as health, education, agriculture, technology, governance and revenue mobilization agencies.
