310 Ghanaian Students Receive Chinese Government Scholarship This Year

Accra, August 24, GNA – The Chinese Government
awarded scholarships to 310 Ghanaian students to enable them to pursue various studies
programs at renowned Chinese universities this year.

Students would take courses such as
engineering, medicine, architecture, agriculture and communication of information
technology at Peking University, Tsinghua University and other renowned Chinese universities.

Ghana at the 2019 Chinese Government Scholarship Ceremony
in Accra on Friday.

Currently, there are 6,475 Ghanaian students
studying in China, while the Chinese Embbady in Ghana published last year 1,329
study visas for Ghanaian students to study in China.

This makes Ghana with the greatest number of
African students studying in China are more numerous than Nigerians and Southern countries.

The Chinese ambbadador urged the winners to
study, respect the Chinese laws and live in harmony with the Chinese and
other international students and are good ambbadadors of Ghana.

The award of the scholarship, he said,
showed the commitment of the Chinese government to develop the human resources of
Ghana, and conviction would go a long way towards strengthening bilateral relations
between the two nations.

the friendship rooted in our hearts, "said Mr. Wang.

He urged the laureates to take advantage of
the opportunity to learn Chinese culture and language and to do Chinese
friends as well as foster good relationships with students from other parts of the
world.

The Chinese Ambbadador noted that China and
Ghana shared the common conviction to invest in youth education and thus welcomed
Government of Ghana for introducing the free high school policy and is committed to

Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minister of
Education, who was the honored guest of the ceremony, prayed the laureates
to seize the opportunity to study hard, explore the Chinese cultural values ​​that

One of the laureates, Ms. Jamila Jakalia, a
First Attorney General at the Office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice
Justice, on behalf of his colleagues, thanked the Chinese and Ghanaian governments
for the opportunity to expand their knowledge and understanding.

She is committed to respecting Chinese laws and
rules and regulations governing the various educational institutions of hospitality.
