Dr. Kofi Amoah insists that the amount he receives can only be described as "national service" and considers this work as a voluntary service he provides to the country.
The four-member Interim Committee is under fire for the money it receives monthly, this amount being deducted from the amount of annual payments from the Ghana Football Federation, which FIFA is supposed to send to of the federation for the development of football.
The amount that the president receives each month is almost double what each club would receive to participate in the special competition that would last four months, which caused some anxiety and anger in some circles.
Each board member earns about $ 4,000 a month. The chairman of the commission receives $ 6,500, all from the coffers of the GFA at FIFA.
But the crafty and accomplished businessman insists that the time he spends on managing football would result in losses for his vast trading empire because he does not work for Ghanaian football for profit.
"If it was because of the money, I would not have accepted the job. I did it because it's in the service of the nation, "Dr. Kofi Amoah told Adom TV on Friday.
"I do not bluff but even $ 50,000 would not be enough," he added.
While some criticized the payment to committee members as a waste of time for GFA funds, others said that those working for the improvement of football must be well remunerated.
