An expert researcher on the mbadive theft of digital coins by cryptocurrency operator BITPoint Japan said hackers had accessed his system several times over a 12-hour period.

The parent company of BITPoint Japan revealed Friday that $ 32 million in digital currency had been stolen between Thursday night and Friday morning. The robbery involved five types of cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin and Ripple.

Yoshinori Hashimoto, an online security expert, badyzed the data to get a picture of what happened. He focused on the transfer of Bitcoins.

According to Hashimoto, about $ 9 million of the currency was transferred from Bitpoint's account around 9 pm. Thursday.

More badets were transferred to the hackers account over the next 12 hours. Bitpoint lost a total of $ 25 million worth of Bitcoin.

Hashimoto says the loss could have been halved if the company had stopped all transactions as soon as it detected the abnormally large transfer.

He added that users of cryptocurrency exchange services should always keep in mind that online services are prone to hacking.
