Sitting in soggy swimsuits is one of the only negative things on vacation – but two Australian women claim to have solved the problem for good.
And the 35-year-old best friends earned £ 500,000 in just one year thanks to their ingenious invention of a line of quick-drying swimsuits.
Her friends Kay Howitt and Lynne Tramonte of Sydney had been working together for decades in the swimwear industry before deciding to launch their own brand a year ago.
Already, their swimwear brand, Monte & Lou, has made about £ 500,000 (USD 1,000,000) and signed a contract with an Australian department store.
And while their quality clothing and trend has become popular, the most appealing concept for many is the brand's "fast-drying technology," which eliminates the "brutal mooring" feeling.
Kay's co-founder and creative director told news.com.au: "Our fabrics are designed for fast drying, which means there's no need to wear a wet swimsuit anymore.
Kay, a bad cancer survivor, also wanted to make sure that all their clothes made women feel good about their bodies.
She added, "I understand that it can be quite difficult to choose a swimsuit and find something for which one feels good.Having my personal experience means that I understand that good style increases your confidence in you."
The pair has recently started shipping their swimsuits outside of Australia and hopes its international market and business will double its sales.
"We want to bring the lifestyle of Australian vacations to the world," Kay said.
