Deputy Secretary General of the ruling party, the new patriotic party [NPP]Nana Obiri Boahene says he is negligent if Ghana's former election commissioner, Charlotte Osei, was appointed to oversee the mission of the President of the United States of America. [USA] election or even to replace British Prime Minister Theresa May.

According to him, whatever the position of Charlotte Osei and her contributions to the elections of other countries, "it is still not a good material in Ghana".

"I do not care where she's going" he said in an interview with NEAT FM 'Ghana Montie' morning show, Tuesday, May 29, 2019.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has dismissed election commissioner Charlotte Osei and her two deputies for "unfair conduct and incompetence".

The referral was recommended by a panel of Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo to investigate allegations of corruption, misconduct and alleged wrongdoing by the three commissioners.

The other two commissioners are Amadu Sulley and Mrs. Georgina Opoku Amankwaa.

She was recently appointed Commissioner for International Elections in Afghanistan by the UN.

Afghanistan is expected to hold its presidential elections in September 2019.

Ms. Osei is one of the international advisers expected to support the work of the electoral management bodies in Afghanistan.
