A 44-year-old man was arrested for posing as a policeman at the Asuofua truck station in the Ashanti region.
The suspect, Richard Nyantakyi was arrested while directing traffic in the province.
At the time of his arrest, Richard Nyantakyi was wearing police uniforms and wielding what appeared to be a pump pistol.
According to a report from the Asokwa District Police Department, he was spotted on Saturday September 11 by the Asokwa District Police Commander, Commissioner Christian Owusu Mpinim.
During the confrontations, the suspect indicated that he was a member of the Suame division police.
Mr. Nyantakyi, who was unable to provide his service number when the instant interrogation was arranged, was subsequently arrested and the weapon recovered for further investigation.
