5 arrested for forcibly removing Krachi West DTS

The Volta Regional Police on Tuesday arrested five people involved in the disturbances at the premises of the Krachi West district director in the Oti region.

They also forced Douglas Osei-Nti, DCE of Krachi West, to leave his office and also locked him, thus preventing the DCE from performing his duties.

Those arrested are Mathias Banyolonso, Sunkwa Sarfo, Amos Eseikor, Tijani Shaibu and Murtala Yakubu, all alleged to be former party leaders of the new ruling Patriotic Party in Krachi West.

The suspects are currently under investigation for badault, imprisonment, offensive conduct and unlawful damage, among others.

The police administration has warned the general public, especially young people, to use legal or anticipated procedures to deal with grievances.

According to the Service, any person or group of persons who commits unlawful or criminal acts would be arrested, investigated and prosecuted.

The service badured the general public that it would continue to provide adequate security to all well-meaning citizens and residents of Ghana.
