The New York Police Department is investigating an allegation that an area chief allegedly ordered police officers to "shoot" at 50 cents during a call in his home.
According to reported information, Assistant Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez reportedly made this remark in June 2017 during a morning visit for a boxing event in the Bronx. New York Daily News reports that Gonzales tried to pbad the comment as "a joke".
It appears that Gonzales was reported to Internal Affairs of the New York Police by at least one officer present. CNN now reports that an investigation is underway.

Roy Richter, president of the NYPD Captains Endowment Association, called the allegations against Gonzalez "completely false".
"It's 50 Cent who put the safety of the inspector and his family by publishing a threatening tweeting call for violence last year," he said in a statement, citing a message posted on social media and supposed to threaten a police officer.
After waking up to the news, 50 Cent – his real name Curtis Jackson – expressed his indignation on Instagram by writing, "I'm afraid I have not been previously informed of this threat by the NYPD."
He continued, "I take this threat very seriously and consult with my legal counsel regarding my future options.
