50 Cent to Release New Music Soon, Says Original “Street King Immortal” Won’t Release

Between “Power” and its various spinoffs, 50 Cent has apparently spent a lot more time on the set of TV shows than in the studio. But, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been in the booth, and at some point over the next couple of months or so, he’s going to be serving up some new music to his loyal fans.

In an interview The independent published today (July 19), 50 took stock of its King of the Immortal Street album, and in the process, the Queens rapper let fans know when they can expect new tracks. “This original version [of Street King Immortal] is not [being released], but I’m releasing new music in September, ”he told the publication. He goes on to note that his friend and, at one point, label boss Eminem will not be included on the album as they never completed the tracks they had together.

King of the Immortal Street is an LP 50 Cent announced over 10 years ago, and it has had several notional release dates during that time. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that 50 isn’t planning to release the original iteration of the LP. In hip-hop, even a three-year gap can make seismic changes to the rap game, whether it’s the content or the production and features around it. So 10 years is basically an eternity.

Although 50 hasn’t released a lot of music lately, every now and then he shows he still has it in him. Most recently, he hooked up with NLE Choppa and Rileyy Lanez for “Part of the Game”, a single that serves as the theme song for “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”.

If his occasional singles weren’t enough to convince you that the 50s still have it, consider the fact that he also produced Pop Smoke’s posthumous debut album, Aim for the stars, aim for the moon, last summer. With a variety of features that really complement the style of Pop Smoke, this is a perfectly modern LP and perfectly grafted on an artist who was destined to be a superstar.
