Fifty million dollars has been generated so far for the national cathedral project, revealed Reverend Ameyaw Ebenezer Saka, responsible for church relations with the national cathedral project.

Reverend Saka further said that the National Cathedral will rejuvenate the tourism sector in Ghana and also create jobs for Ghanaians.

“It will bring a huge amount of tourism to this country, a lot of people will find jobs and we will see tourism get a makeover”,

When asked how much had been budgeted for the whole project, he replied, “At first, before the Biblical Garden and the Bible Museum, it was valued at a hundred million dollars, now that it has. been added, it will be a little higher. I can’t tell you exactly, but it will be a little more than the hundred million dollars.

“How much did he get in?” Thank goodness we got a start up amount from the state and also with the various fundraisers that we organized in Accra in December 2018, in Washington in 2019 and also in Kumasi in January 2020 we got a sum of discreet money.

He added, “The voluntary contributions requested are very important because we want the ordinary Ghanaian to own this project, the ordinary Christian to own this project so that your contributions come to help facilitate the project. ”

Last Friday, July 29, when Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta presented the mid-year budget review, he said the government will launch an initiative where Ghanaians will have the opportunity to donate GHS 100 per months to support the construction of the cathedral.
