According to her, the ministry received 5,000 applications for the first phase of the program focused on the south of the country and gave badurances that the second phase of the exercise, which was to start in July this year, would accept more applications, especially from the north sector.
"The government spends 650 GH ¢ on each beneficiary for training. Each of them receives an amount of 250 GH ¢ as a deduction for its maintenance.
"We will also give them working tools and a start-up capital of at least 500 GH ¢ when they have completed their respective studies," added Hajia Mahama.
She said she was delighted with their determination to learn and encouraged them to work even harder and expand their horizons beyond the clbadroom.
The Minister then invited the teachers to introduce the beneficiaries in the spirit of business and financial literacy in order to enable them to become better managers of their projects once their various courses have been completed.
