A total of 54 individuals selected nomination forms to participate in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in 15 constituencies in the Upper East region.

The party opened the candidatures from July 10 to 12 for the primaries.
The submission of the application forms is scheduled for 18 and 19 July.
The price of the forms was 2000 GH ¢, the filing fee being set at 35 000 GH for all applicants, with the exception of women and persons with disabilities, who had to pay 17 500 GH.
A number of members of the incumbent Parliament of the CND have not chosen appointment forms.
Among them were Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, former Deputy Minister of Finance and MP for Ketu South.
Richard Quashigah, MP for Keta, Clement Kofi Humado, MP for Anlo, and Bernice Adiku Heloo, MP for Hohoe, also decided not to participate in the primaries.
Alban S.K., the oldest parliamentarian in Ghana, is from Ghana. Bagbin will not seek re-election in future parliamentary elections.
The 62-year-old had not chosen an application form to challenge the Nadowli-Kaleo parliamentary seat at the closing of the nominations on Friday.
Bagbin, currently the second Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, has been in Nadowli-Kaleo's parliamentary seat since 1992.
