Seven miners died after an explosion in the mining concession of the Chinese company Shaanzi Mining company Ltd. in the Far East region.
The medical director of the Upper East Regional Hospital where the deceased's bodies were deposited confirmed the deaths at Joy News on Wednesday.
The tragedy occurred Wednesday at dawn as workers in the Talensi district-based company blew up explosives in an attempt to extract them.
Witnesses say that powerful clouds of smoke have strangled them.
Dr. Patrick Atobrah said that three juveniles found to be illegal had been brought dead. Three others died later during a treatment.
