The National Peace Council will meet today on April 9, 2019 the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to discuss the way forward to solve the problem of political vigilance in the country.

However, it is not clear who would represent the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), although newspaper sources told MyNewsGh.com that Sammi Awuku the national organizer, John Boadu the secretary-general and Freddie Blay the National President could be present.

But the NDC has however revealed to be represented by Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, its national president, Mr. Totobi Kwakye, a former Minister of the Interior, Prosper Douglas Biney, a former chief of staff, Kakra Asamoah and Abraham Amaliba for the highly anticipated meeting.

Mr. Abraham Amaliba revealed on Angel Fm in Kumasi, overseen by Syxtus Eshun of MyNewsGh.com, that the NDC is prepared for the meeting with both parties to be represented by seven people each

The meeting, which has not yet taken place today, will bring the proposals of the Board of Trustees table for further debate on the best approach to the dissolution of self-defense groups in the country.

In her latest State of the Nation Address, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo called on the country's two main political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to dissolve their self defense groups. to be forced to do it himself through legislation.
