Scenes from the accident of Ekumfi
Eight people were killed Thursday in another accident at Ekumfi Dakwa in Ekumfi district in the central region of the country.
More than 70 others would also be in critical condition as a result of this painful accident.
The accident involved a Yutong bus from Takoradi to Accra and a metropolitan transit bus from Accra to Diaso colliding with a cargo truck that was trying to overtake by hitting a speed ramp.
The wounded were transported to the Winneba Traumatology Hospital, the Apam Government Hospital and the Mankessim Catholic Hospital.
Sending to Starr News, Superintendent Augustine Mensah, police commander of the Mankessim division, described the accident as bloody but avoidable.
He urged motorists to follow road safety rules to reduce the carnage on these roads.
The incident comes as the nation is still ruminating over the deaths of more than 50 people in an accident Thursday in Kintampo.
