The Sekondi-Takoradi Municipal Assembly said it seized nine trucks used by a quarry company whose activities had triggered a water supply crisis in the metropolis.
The trucks were loaded with blocks of stone from mining activities in the Anankore River. This river is the main source of water for the Inchaban WWTP of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in the western region.
GWCL's regional management found that its daily water production had dropped from 4 million gallons to about 1.4 million liters and found that this was due to Osamduodu's quarry business.
