MILPITAS, California – A bereaved couple in central California cries for the mourning of his 9-year-old son and warns other parents of the shocking cause of his death: a cold virus.

Belle Ang, a resident of Milpitas, warned if a cold virus could kill her future healthy fourth-grad student, Tristan Ang, "It could happen to any child," she said. at KTVU-TV.

Belle Ang said that her son died very quickly. He complained of fever, headache and nausea from time to time the week before his involvement in a taekwondo championship.

"We just think that he may be too tired, a little dehydrated," said the boy's father, Mark Ang. "We gave him Tylenol and Motrin, it would disappear, but not completely, and it would come back."

Test excluded a number of diseases. Then the Angs told KTVU, and then on June 28, Tristan Ang was rushed to the hospital, where he died several hours later, as a result of swelling of the brain caused by the 39; adenovirus.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, adenoviruses are common viruses that cause various diseases, including colds, sore throats, diarrhea and pink eyes.

"There were no signs of a cold, nothing," said Mark Ang.

Despite their grief, the Angs wanted other parents to know that what might be like a common cold or childhood illness could quickly turn into a deadly situation.

The family has created a GoFundMe page to help pay the expenses.
