According to reports, Manchester United would have contacted Antoine Griezmann, of Atletico Madrid, in the summer.
Griezmann has again been involved in a transfer to Barcelona, but the Catalan giants have doubts about the benefits of signing the World Cup winner.
The Frenchman revealed last week that he would leave Madrid this summer and it was expected that Barcelona would sign him for his release clause of 104 million pounds.

But the Barcelona hierarchy is divided as to the signature of the 28-year-old adventurer, with some believing that the money could be better spent elsewhere in the transfer niche.
And this opened the door to United, which, according to The Independent, would have again made contact with Griezmann camp about a potential deal.
If Barcelona is not very enthusiastic, while Manchester City, Real Madrid and PSG are not interested, it could open the way to United to try to win the big sum of Griezmann.
