Ministry of Health considers vaccination program for adults

The ministry has asked the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) to prepare a template for the program, the paper writes.

FHI recommended that the entire population be revaccinated every ten years against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough and poliomyelitis.

At the same time, the institute says that some adults, including newly arrived immigrants, may not have the basic vaccination and need measles and red dog vaccines.

– This is important for maintaining immunity to certain diseases. An adult vaccination program, similar to the childhood vaccination program and influenza vaccine, will guarantee the same offer to all, said FHI Chief Medical Officer Preben Aavitsland.
