Kiwi Canoeists Lisa Carrington and Scott Martlew dominated their respective podiums at the FIC Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup in Poznan, Poland on Sunday (NZT).
Para-Canoeist Martlew defeated for the gold medal in the men's 200m KL2 on Lake Malta, followed 90 minutes later by another title in K1 200m for Carrington.
Two-time Olympic champion Carrington took command early and then moved away late to cross the line of fire in front of her closest rival in tough conditions to keep her seven-year record undefeated intact.
"The races of today have been pretty tough," said Carrington. "We had wind, but it helped with the times because they were fast enough."
"Just seeing our other teams paddle well, including our younger daughters and the men's team has made this regatta a very good competition, with many countries competing here, raising standards and forces you to run harder. "
Aged 29, she later joined the women's K4 to win a place in Sunday night's final.
Martlew qualified fastest for his final and then kept his promise with a dominant display: a better victory than he won at the World Cup in Hungary last year.
"The final was incredible from the start," said Martlew. "I felt really strong out of the blocks and kept going ahead until the finish.
"I am delighted to have won the gold medal." "I worked hard enough at home in New Zealand." Last week in Poland, I had a difficult buildup, with a sore throat and a runny nose, so I did not know how I was going in. Getting out and winning convincingly was pretty amazing. "
