Violent clashes ensued when residents blocked the city's main road.
The electricity distribution service has waived 111,099,875 ¢ for residents of Krobo Odumase in the Eastern Region, leaving them 84,625,624.87 ¢ to settle.
As a sign of commitment to recover power, residents must make a payment from Friday.
Clients who can not pay a check can consult PDS for a debt rescheduling plan.
These were part of the roadmap for peace and the PDS, which revived the Odumase community back into the national network, after things got out of hand.
There was a clash on Wednesday that killed a 14-year-old boy and two others in critical condition.
The violent clashes ensued when residents blocked the city's main road to prevent PDS officers escorted by police officers from cutting off the main transformer that supplied the city.
At the meeting on Friday, officials from the Public Utilities and Regulatory Commission (PURC); MP for Lower Manya Krobo, Ebenezer Telarbi, Director General of the Tema Region and PDS staff.
The roadmap
The member of Parliament and the members of the House have committed to the residents agreeing to pay and some paying their bills.
They also agreed that debt planning should be based on the particular case of each client.
Clearly, not feeling safe after the altercation, it was decided that the MP, Assembly members, leaders and opinion leaders should address residents to create a climate of peace and suitable for PDS staff and facilities.
Residents must allow PDS personnel to access their premises to take current readings from their meters to generate bills for them.
The electricity distribution company has relaxed the initial payment by 70% for customers and has programmed the debt for a minimum of six months and a possible extension if the need arises.
The MP must communicate the results of the meeting to the residents of Krobo Odumase and report to the PURC and the PDS.
PDS should consult with the highest authorities and intervene to restore all processors if the staff is guaranteed to be able to do their work as soon as possible.
