Olympic champion Lisa Carrington continued her domination at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup, winning two gold medals in a row.

After opening his World Cup campaign in Poland on Sunday (NZT) with a victory in the K1 200m, Carrington returned to the water this morning to eliminate the K1 500 field in unstable conditions.

His record of 1m 47.839 allowed him to advance by almost two lengths in advance the second, Volha Khudzenka of Belarus.

Carrington was pleased with his arrival and said it was a good preparation for the August World Championships in Hungary.

"Today, it was just to practice what I was doing in training and really prepare for the world championships," Carrington told Newshub. "The conditions are difficult, but we are an outdoor sport."

Less than two hours later, the 29-year-old jumped into the canoe with Kayla Imrie, Aimee Fisher and Caitlin Ryan for the K4 500m.

The quartet took the victory in front of France and Poland, the host country.

Ryan, who narrowly missed a medal with Fisher finishing fifth in the A final, said the win was the result of a tough weekend.

"It was a race that mattered a lot to us," said Ryan. "We all had a really important weekend, trying new things and learning.

"Come back and really emphasize that K4 was pretty cool, I'm sure we're all very proud."

Meanwhile, Imrie finished fourth in the semifinal of the K1 200m. The duo Max Brown and Kurtis Imrie finished behind the German double in the men's K2 1000m final.
