Anthony Albanese will lead the Labor Party in the next elections. No other candidate will run to challenge the main leftist opponent.

The nominations were closed on Monday morning, leaving the deputy to Grayndler's seat as the only candidate.

His deputy will be the right-wing Victorian deputy Richard Marles.
