TOKYO (AP) – President Donald Trump will visit his home in Japan Tuesday after being stopped aboard an American warship to deliver a speech to US forces.

Trump will land aboard two ships near a base in Yokosuka, nearby. One is the Japanese destroyer J.S. Kaga where he will be joined by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The other is the USS Wasp, a multi-purpose amphibious badault ship where he will deliver Memorial Day remarks to the troops.

Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako should also visit Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

The United States paid tribute to their fallen soldiers at Memorial Day on Monday. Trump was criticized for failing to visit cemeteries to honor his American troops, but he placed flags on graves at Arlington Cemetery last week before leaving for Japan.
