Campaign calls for trust for nearly half of girls who give up sport

SUncorp and Leo Burnett team up for the "Team Girls" release, a campaign launching a strengthening rallying cry from 38 inspiring female teenagers who are encouraging all girls to stay with her and not give up the sport.

Created with independent director Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore, her music team and the girls themselves, the films combine songs and powerful choreography. They are designed to emulate pre-match motivational rituals, using the power of the collective voice to reinforce the confidence that comes from playing team sports and encouraging the Australian to stay in the game.

Part of the campaign kicked off over the weekend with a live televised live performance by teens – along with electronic musician Thandi Phoenix – at halftime of the Suncorp Super Netball Melbourne Vixens derby match against Margaret's NSW Swifts Court Arena.

Suncorp's research reveals that almost half of Australian girls dropped out of the sport at 17, although two-thirds agree that sport can give them more confidence. The report also reveals that more than half of parents are concerned about their daughters' self-esteem.

The campaign continues throughout the Super Netball Suncorp season, animated by a moving 60-second TVC featuring Team Girls singing. The film was created by Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore and her main team of women, backed by a fully female agency and a client team.

The campaign is joined by "athletes", retired netball player Liz Ellis, former Australian netball player and former Australian national team captain Laura Geitz, rugby player Alicia Quirk and the netballeuse Ashleigh Brazill, Rebecca Sparrow – teenage Agony Aunt, podcast host and author of "Game On!" A Team Girls guide to become active.

"When we saw the statistics, we realized that we needed a strong campaign that could make a difference," Jess Lilley, Creative Director of Leo Burnett. "We wanted it to be led by the voices of the girls themselves, supported by fearless women and visionaries who champion change.

"We were delighted when Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore and her team joined us. Her creative vision and inclusive philosophy are fully in line with our mission to encourage teens to stop doubting themselves, support each other, go out and change their score. "

Mim Haysom, Brand and Marketing General Manager at Suncorp, added, "The latest creative concept from Team Girls has been developed to address the important findings of the 2019 Trust Report for Teenagers Today. , as part of Suncorp's ongoing commitment to change the score and keep young people motivated. "

"Suncorp is proud to be working with Netball Australia to encourage teenage girls to continue to play team sports today and to train more confident women tomorrow."

Chant lyrics:

"Hey, you got this girl
We know you do.

We know our goals
We repig
Confident in our heart

Check the score
You can not ignore
We equip girls
And we want more

[All the girls CLAP]THE RESPECT
We on this subject and we get

[A force of the other 18 opposite them in the circle chant back:]SUCCESS
You know that's what we call success

We … AHHH … team … YEAH … girls … AHH … dream … YEAH

[The chant becomes quieter]We, the Team Girls, are here to play
We girls are here to stay
[Begin to get louder and louder, projecting their voices with every line repetition]We, the Team Girls, are here to play
We girls are here to stay
We are girls, and we want more

We whisper, now we moan!
