Scotland: Steve Clarke selects five uncapped players

New Scottish coach Steve Clarke has named five uncapped players his first team for the Euro 2020 qualifiers in June with Cyprus and Belgium.

Livingston goaltender Liam Kelly, Aberdeen defender Michael Devlin and Kilmarnock trio Stuart Findlay, Greg Taylor and striker Eamonn Brophy are all included.

Clarke worked with striker Brophy and defenders Findlay and Taylor during his stint at Rugby Park.

Hull goalkeeper David Marshall and Tom Cairney of Fulham are recalled.

The last two Alex McLeish's control matches against Kazakhstan and San Marino are also not involved, but John Fleck and Oli McBurnie, who have been, do not appear this time.

Kelly, who was on the bench for these games, retains her place on the team.

McLeish left the role after Scotland lost 3-0 to Kazakhstan's outside and won 2-0 at San Marino, leaving Clarke leaving Ayrshire to take over last week.

Scotland, like Cyprus, Russia and Kazakhstan, won a victory in two Group I matches.

Cyprus will visit Hampden on June 8, before Clarke's team travels to Belgium three days later.

More soon.

Brophy or Burke on the front? – badysis

Steven Thompson, former Scottish striker

I'll go a little to the left and suggest that Eamonn Brophy can begin. We are not fortunate to have many options in the front. Our best player, Leigh Griffiths, hopes he will come back to play football next season. Callum Paterson started the last game from the beginning and this just shows you the problems we have in this area.

Former Scottish midfielder Michael Stewart

I would be surprised if Eamonn Brophy started the game. He was very successful and obviously Steve Clarke knows him extremely well. When Brendan Rodgers was at Celtic, he got the best of Oli Burke who called him number nine. He is a player who has his shortcomings, but he is a person we can use the forces and Steve Clarke is the same as Rodgers.
