Tamale, May 28, GNA – Three bodies have
established and commissioned a computer lab for the Choggu demonstration
School in the municipality of Sagnarigu of the North region.

The collaborators are; Yamoransa's friends
Foundation (FYF) and Helping Africa Foundation (HAF), two non-profit organizations
American organizations and Hajia Samira Bawumia's office, wife
the vice-president.

The 56-seat Model Lab nicknamed: "Yamoransa
Model Lab-4 "is ordered in collaboration with Hajia's office
Samira Baumiah, the second lady, funded by HAF and FYF and installed by
TECHAiDE to improve the teaching and learning of information and communication
Technology (ICT), English, Mathematics and Science.

The facility would benefit from more than 8,000
the children from the host school and nine other surrounding schools.

The laboratory has 30 educational software for primary and secondary schools
installed to help teach science, technology, English and
Mathematics.

TECHAiDE has also installed its newest
ASANKA, an innovative technology that offers free access to educational programs
content using any wifi compatible device, such as a phone, tablet, laptop or computer
with a wireless card.

The current version of ASANKA installed
on computers has more than 500 educational books, videos, basic education
Review of past certificate issues for all subjects from 2010 to 2018.

Hajia Samira Bawumia said that ICTs continue to
play an important role at the global level in the delivery of services for the realization of
socio-economic objectives in education, health, employment and social development.

She said a lot of children in disadvantaged areas
Ghana had little or no access to ICTs due to lack of infrastructure
and insufficient qualified staff.

"As a nation, we have a duty to the next
generation, and this duty is to commit to growth and development
of our children ".

Dr. Rose responded in response and for their love
for computer literacy programs initiated and coordinated the funding of the
project to improve the teaching and learning of ICTs.

She said, the effort to put in place these
Model Labs started with a mandate from the Ghana Ministry of Education, which was to educate
young people in emerging ICT fields.

Dr. Rose stated that the educational philosophy of
the United States has adopted general liberal arts education, encompbading
human, social and natural sciences, rather than strictly technical or
pre-vocational training and that it was believed to be the best preparation for
to become citizens of the world.

Mr. Aryiku stated that the essential mission of the
the foundation is working to improve education, health and social well-being
conditions in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in Ghana.

He said that the dedication was in line with the
Dr. Rose's mission and vision to promote and disseminate computer culture
in Ghana's primary school system, adding: "This is the fourth
Laboratory we built in Ghana. "

Mr. Aryiku stated that the Yamoransa Model Lab was a
development strategy by HAF and FYF to support and badist projects that have been
led by the local community and that Ghana's leaders need to be fully engaged
support the project in a sustainable way.

Ms. Mariam Iddrisu, Municipal Leader
Executive of Sagnarigu said the municipality was changing trend and was taking
great progress in the field of education making basic education affordable
and accessible to all.

The other dignitaries present were; Alhaji
Mohammed Haroon, Regional Director of Northern Education, Chiefs, Mr. Anis
Haffar, board member of the Ghana Education Service and other directors.

The project is managed by
IMPLEMENTERS, a non-profit project management company, with its technology
the partners; TECHAiDE, which has more than 10 years of experience in technological projects
globally.
