Joshua congratulates Wilder for Breazeale KO: That's why I want it!

Anthony Joshua has no complaints, Deontay Wilder refusing to attend his American debut against Andy Ruiz Jr. this weekend.

The Briton will defend his IBF, WBA Super, IBO and WBO titles at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday.

Joshua wanted Wilder, the WBC champion, to be at the edge of the ring, but the "Bronze Bomber" – who scored the knockout in the first round against Dominic Breazeale this month – will not be present.

"[He’s] probably busy, he just fought. Just had to be in his training camp, had his fight, [there’s] a lot of pressure on it, "he told IFL TV.

"He probably does not want to see a boxing ring for a while, so I do not blame the guy, he has his family, does not he, he has other things to do."

Joshua has so far failed in his desire to unite with Wilder, although both sides have been involved in protracted negotiations.

Joshua, still undefeated, said he was impressed by the fact that Wilder eliminated Breazeale, a man he had to stop in seven rounds three years ago.

"He did a better job, knocked him out earlier than me," he added. "He's a good fighter and that's why I want to compete with him."

He added jokingly: "It's stupid of me, I should have taken Breazeale earlier, I will not repeat that mistake again!"

"I could have taken her to the second round, it was not easy, I had hurt her the second.

"Yeah, comparing him, he did a better job, he knocked him out earlier than me, so he's a good fighter, that's why I want to fight with him."

The fight also failed between Joshua and his national rival Tyson Fury, who now seems badured of facing Dillian Whyte – himself interested in a rematch against "AJ" – provided he qualify against Tom Schwarz and Oscar Rivas.

"I think it's just a bit useless, Fury wants to be a champion, he wants to add this linear status so that he can fight me," said Joshua.

"Dillian could beat me for all the belts but he wants to take a different route, so good luck to them.I will look at them, but they do not have to follow this route, they can come directly."
