Benin has named its 23-man squad for CAN 2019
Opponents of the Ghanaian group, Benin, have named their 23-man squad for the upcoming 2019 AFC CAN in Egypt later next month.
Benin coach Michel Dussuyer invited 21 foreign players and two local professionals to participate in the tournament.
The list includes the footballer of the year 2018 in Benin, Khaled Adenon, who plays for the French Ligue 1 for Amiens SC, has also been named.
Stephane Sessegnon, former midfielder at Paris St-Germaine, and Steve Mounie, of Huddersfield Town, were also qualified for the Squirrels.
Rudy Gestede is visibly missing in Middlesbrough, but 34-year-old Mickael Poté, who had an excellent season in the Turkish second-half this season, scoring 16 goals in 34 appearances for Adana Demirspor, was named.
The squirrels will play their first match of the tournament against Ghana in Ismailia and will face Guinea Bissau and Cameroon in the other group matches.
