Research shows that your biodegradable bag does not degrade as fast as you thought

A recent study by Plymouth University led by a researcher, Imogen Napper, shows that bags labeled as biodegradable can still carry five pounds of purchases three years after being discarded.

Professor Richard Thompson calls for "a clearer international policy and standards to define what we mean when we say something is biodegradable".
