My mother is alive, in the flesh – Rawlings spreads rumors of death

Former President Jerry John Rawlings dismissed rumors that his mother, Victoria Agbotui, would no longer be.

In a statement issued Wednesday, May 29 and signed by his communications director, Kobina Andoh Amoakwa, he said that Ms. Agbotui "is alive, healthy and warm".

The number one woman in Mr. Rawlings' life was neither sick nor admitted to any hospital.

He advised the general public not to take into account these "unfortunate rumors circling Madame Agbotui".

The former president has never failed to pay a laudatory tribute to his mother, who turns 100 in a few months, every time he is questioned about his childhood.
