A mother and a father went home after days of deadly clashes between Kokonbas and Chokosis, for nothing.
Mariam and her five children fled their homes when the first shot struck last Saturday, but came back in tears, seeing the damage to her property.
The few things she and her husband had worked for most of their lives.
In her account at Gifty Andoh Appiah, Joy News, the mother of five said she did not know where to start to rebuild their home.
Her husband, who was away before the start of the conflict, will return home with nothing – he will not even have room to rest his head because their mattresses and bedding were burned by strangers.
Marian and her family are not alone.
Another man who spoke to Gifty still did not find his wife and seven children who disappeared when the badailants stormed their home and set them on fire.
Although he has searched for them everywhere, they are nowhere else and the situation makes it even impossible for him to report his case to the police, he said.
Foodstuffs, books and all other goods have been burned to ashes. Despite his return, it is almost impossible for him to pick up the pieces of what is left.
