Telecommunications Network, MTN Ghana is concerned about the systematic shutdowns of its fiber optic cables.

The company has, however, dispelled fears of an increase in data transmission charges for the country's customers.

MTN Ghana CEO Selorm Adadevoh, who leaked the information, said the activities were disastrous for the company.

He added that the government should pay close attention to the protection of fiber optic cables in the telecommunications industry, as this has a negative impact on business, especially when it was requested that the cost of data is reduced.

"Today, we work hand in hand with the road contractors. It is a very serious situation that affects the ability to provide the level of service and the quality of service that we hopefully we can solve this problem, and we absolutely must, otherwise the consequences for the company will be terrible, "he said.

The disruption of the company's services due to fiber optic cable cuts resulted in the recording of 382 incidents between January and March of this year alone.
