A Chinese woman recently went on social media to express her surprise at the gift she received from her boyfriend on May 20, one of three annual romantic holidays in China. She apparently had received the use rights of 210 hectares at sea.

Beijing-based lawyer Zhang Xinnian told the Chinese publication The Paper that Zhang's candidacy is legitimate, according to Chinese law.
"Property law stipulates that territorial waters belong to the country and can not be sold or bought. However, the country also protects the rights of use acquired legally, "said the lawyer.
