Swami Satyan and Saraswati, the spiritual father of former Vice Minister of Communications, Victoria Hamah, has died.

Mrs. Hamah, of Hindu religion, was very close to the deceased and considered him as his spiritual father.

Swami Satyanand Saraswati was the head of the Hindu monastery of Africa, Ghana, before his disappearance.

He joined the divine order of Sannyasi when he was initiated by his guru Swami Ghanan and Saraswati on February 12, 2012.

The deceased was a Ghanaian born Catholic and, in adulthood, became a Hindu and worked for Hindu dharma for more than 35 years.

He began his journey in spiritualism at a tender age. After a successful career as an accountant, Swami renounced living in the monastery.

Upon the eternal departure of his guru, Swami Ghananand, Swami Satyanand built a shrine in his honor at the headquarters of the Hindu monastery of Africa, Ghana, where daily devotion is offered.

He helped his guru, Swami Ghananand, restructure the monastery of Africa, Ghana, to spread the knowledge of Sanatana Dharma.

Under the divine guidance of his guru Swami Ghananand, the Hindu monastery of Africa, Ghana, has established five (5) branches in Ghana and a branch in Togo, and published fifteen (15) books on Hinduism .

His Holiness Swami Satyanand was born on March 5, 1938 in Brafoyow, a town near Cape Coast, in the central region of Ghana, of illiterate and peasant parents.

Victoria Hamah was chosen by Swami Satyan and to represent him at the 2nd Hindu World Congress held in Chicago, USA, from September 3 to 9, 2018.

Ms. Hamah is currently Executive Director of the Progressive Organization for the Advancement of Women (POWA).

She also served as Assistant Minister of Communications under the former John Mahama government.
