British Olympic runner Eilish McColgan blamed the police for taking six hours to react after her medals and family property were stolen by thieves while she was competing abroad.
The 28-year-old Manchester home was "ransacked" Wednesday while she was in Stockholm for a Diamond League athletics meeting.
Among the stolen items was a ring-shaped necklace – a gift from her mother Liz McColgan, herself a running champion in the 1980s.
Yesterday evening, the young McColgan targeted the Greater Manchester police, stating, "We called about six hours ago, but no one has come home yet to follow up. can you help?

She posted on Facebook: "I've never been so angry with my life. I just discovered that our house was robbed and completely ransacked.

"It's about the 50th break I've seen in our area in the last few months.
"There are really a few ******** in the world. I do not know what they still stole, aside from all my jewelry, Olympic Games items that I kept and some medals. Horrible, horrible foam.
She went on to explain that "all my other jewelery, British track and field medals and some commemorative medals from the Olympic and Commonwealth Games" were gone.
McColgan was abroad for a meeting of the Diamond League in Stockholm when she was robbed
Police told the BBC that investigations into the crime were ongoing.
A spokesman added that the response of the force was based on the threat and risk presented to the public and that it had to make "difficult decisions" to prioritize the calls.
McColgan also confirmed that his dog was safe after the thieves locked him in the living room.
McColgan, a native of Dundee, won last year a silver medal in the 5000m at the European Championships in Berlin, as well as a bronze medal in the 3000m at the Championships in Dundee. 39, Europe in Belgrade in 2017.
She represented Great Britain at the 2012 London Games and Rio 2016 – in the footsteps of her mother and coach, Liz.
