Professor Joshua Owusu Sekyere, vice-chancellor of the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU), launched this call on the theme "Teknokrats, indispensable partners in the recovery, acceleration and maintenance of Industrialization of Ghana ", at the launch of the 10th biennial Congress of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KUNST) on Tuesday.

He noted that governments had in the past made great efforts to stimulate industrialization but that with the introduction of the program of a district, factory (1D1F) , the story would change.

He said it was time for more technocrats to be trained because their services would be more needed than ever in the country's history. "The president said we should not be spectators but citizens. He does not want us to stay out of the way, waiting to see what's going to happen, but we're getting involved. Let's make sure our expertise, skills and knowledge are available to help transform the nation, "he said. Ms Eunice Odisha Amoako, KNUST's Global Alumni President, emphasized the need for Ghana to embark on a new era of industrialization and encouraged technocrats to fulfill their crucial mandate to continue the process of industrialization in the country.
