Elton John said that he was ashamed of the UK for his vote and his management of Brexit.
During his last world tour in Verona, Farewell Yellow Brick Road, he said: "I am ashamed of my country for what it did. It's torn people … I'm very sick of politicians, especially British politicians. I am sick to death of Brexit. I am European I am not a stupid, colonial and imperialist English idiot.
John has already expressed his dismay at Brexit. In July 2018, he said, "I do not think the British were told the truth … They were promised something completely ridiculous and not economically viable." He said the process Brexit was confusing, like "walking in the Hampton Court labyrinth blindfolded, being turned around and trying to find his way."
