Cinebench R15 was the most important reference for us, pushing 28 cores and 56 threads to work 100%, compared to about 10% or less for CPU-Z validation. It's hard. We even asked for help from another prominent overclocker, Hiva "Hiwa" Pouri, but the PC was left with a blue screen every time we exceeded 5.5 GHz. Dismantling and cleaning the kit did not help much either, so we opted for a score of 7,865 cb at 5.5 GHz – not far from the record of 8,391 cb (at 5.68 GHz).

According to Stepongzi, it was really impressive, since its i9-7980XE had reached 5.6 GHz on "only" 18 cores and we now have a similar speed of 5.5 GHz, but 28 the kernels. This is to say that Intel has come a long way with the stability of the W-3175X when it is overclocked. Stepongzi added that this easily wiped out i9-9900K, Intel's latest octa-core flagship product, in the same benchmarks (although the performance of the i9-9900KS announced at Computex should clearly improve ).

Even though we have not managed to break any records, there are ways to improve our chances in the future. On the one hand, a less humid environment would help a lot. Steponz said that he could install a platform in a dry place, such as in Las Vegas, and then sit for hours without ice or steam that could affect performance.
