Albert Adomah will not be offered a new contract at Aston Villa, despite helping the club to promote it in the Premier League, according to reports reported in England.

Adomah is one of the many senior players at the end of the contract at Villa Park this summer. His manager, Dean Smith, is ready to announce the changes within the team.

The 31-year-old has been a mainstay of his three seasons at the club and has won Player of the Year for player of the year for his contribution in 2017/18.

Adomah had the best career score of his team with 15 goals this season and started talks with the club towards the end of it.

Former boss Steve Bruce made it clear that no new contract would be offered to Adomah and tried to ship it to Middlesbrough on the last day of the summer transfer niche. He also had the chance to join Leeds United last summer.

Adomah stayed at the Villa and fought to play his part in a breathtaking end to the season when claret and blues were promoted to the Premier League.

Smith contacted Adomah Thursday night to be informed of the club's decision. Smith was looking to bring down the average age of the Villa team and that was the reasoning behind the call.

The winger made 125 appearances in three seasons with Villa and left the club in the Premier League.

Adomah missed the Black Stars team for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
